Brandeis Conejo Valley Chapter - EVENTS PHOTO GALLERY

Today we had a wonderful experience: DRUM CIRCLE.
Our new co-presidents wanted to bring our community back together with this entertaining event. About 30 BNC members participated in drumming, exploring different precision instruments and creating new music together.
Here are some highlights of the event and some videos (click on the link to watch)

A tribute to the memory of our very special member,

EDIE DELLORCO 1920 - 2015

who was honored with a very special award. WESTERN REGION 2013-2014 'WOMAN OF THE YEAR' AWARD

EDITH DELLORCO - CONEJO VALLEY

'For establishing and successfully directing a Social Justice/Community Service program consisting of multiple projects to meet the needs of the community. Edie is the consummate BNC Volunteer and one of her chapter's most vocal supporters.' Many women from all the BNC chapters in the Western Region were nominated for this very prestigious award. However, the Presidents of the Conejo Valley chapter (Susan Barnett & Carol Smith.) in their nomination of Edie, wrote such a glowing tribute to Edie. that it was obvious that Edie stood head and shoulders above all the rest. It was an easy decision for Honey Bencomo and Sharon Cohen, as Co-Presidents of the Western Region, to present her with that special award. Edie Dellorco is the consummate BNC volunteer.

In her 90s and still going strong, Edie became an associate member of the Conejo Valley Chapter in 2007. Her BNC home at the time was the San Fernando Valley Chapter where she led a book group for 12 years, a group on aging for 8 years and briefly served on the Board. In 2008, Edie transferred her membership to Conejo Valley and agreed to take a Board position as Community Service Chair for our chapter, a position she has held every year since.

One of BNC's and our Chapter's most vocal supporters, Edie attended the Western Region Conference in January. She often will drive other members and guests to our events. Under her direction, the Social Justice/Community Service Committee is involved in multiple projects as outlined above. Edie's enthusiasm is contagious and her ideas are always well received. We are so proud to present Edie Dellorco for the Volunteer Achievement Award.
